Looking for a little bit of extra motivation and encouragement to publish your next class? We’ve got you covered with the Teach Corps Spring 2023 Publishing Challenge, running from February 21 to April 2, 2023! In addition to cash prizes, we’re also offering free one-year memberships for every teacher who participates and publishes a class.
Here's how it will work:
- All Teach Corps teachers who publish a new class between 12:01am ET on February 21, 2023 and 11:59pm on April 2, 2023 will automatically qualify to win 1 of 20 $400 class prizes awarded at the end of the challenge. In partnership with our Curation team, we’ll select the 20 classes — our Challenge Champs — that best meet our Class Quality Guidelines.
- Additionally, we’ll award 12 weekly $75 prizes to our teacher MVPs! Each week during the challenge, two teachers in Teach Corps will be selected based on their level of participation and constructive engagement in the Teach Corps Slack, supporting other teachers working on new classes in the #class-planning-and-production channel and soliciting feedback for their own class.
- Last, every teacher in Teach Corps who meets the eligibility requirements below and who publishes at least one class that meets our Class Quality Guidelines during the challenge will win 1 year of a Skillshare membership — just for participating! Limit one membership per teacher; awarded at the end of the challenge.

All entrants who meet the above qualifications will be eligible to win the following prizes.
$400 Class Prize
All entrants who meet the above qualifications and who publish a class between 12:01am ET on February 21, 2023 and 11:59pm on April 2, 2023 will receive a 1-year Skillshare membership. The approximate retail value of 1 year of membership to Skillshare is $165 USD.
These entrants will also be eligible to win one (1) of twenty (20) $400 Class Prizes to be added to their next monthly payment. The $400 Class Prize winner will be determined solely based on the quality of the entry submitted and the skill shown by the teacher. All entries will be assessed by the Skillshare Curation team, and then separately by at least two Skillshare staff members. The entry that best adheres to Skillshare’s Class Quality Guidelines will be selected as the winner.
The $400 Class Prize winners will be determined on April 12, 2023, and the winners will be informed via email and Slack no later than April 14, 2023.
$75 MVP Prizes
All entrants who meet the above qualifications will be eligible to win one (1) of five (12) $75 MVP Prizes if they share constructively about their class production process in the Teach Corps Slack #planning-and-production channel, and/or provide at least 1 constructive comment or piece of feedback on a fellow teacher’s post in the Teach Corps Slack #class-planning-and-production channel between 12:01am on February 21, 2023 and 11:59pm on April 2, 2023.
Two $75 MVP Prizes will be awarded each week. Only comments or feedback that are submitted during that week are eligible for that week’s $75 MVP Prize. Teachers who win a prior week’s $75 MVP Prize will not be eligible to receive any of the remaining $75 MVP Prizes for the remainder of the contest.
The $75 MVP Prize winner will be determined solely based on the quality of the submission and the skill shown by the teacher, and will be awarded to the teacher whose submission best meets the following criteria:
- Provides demystifying advice or tools that can be applied right away;
- Is most relevant to the teacher community as a whole; and
- Contributes new or innovative information.
The $75 MVP Prize winner will be determined on the Tuesday after the relevant week and the winner will be informed via email and Slack the same day.
Each winner may be required to submit an Affidavit of Eligibility within 5 days of being informed of winning or will be deemed ineligible. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, or if the selected winner cannot accept or receive the prize for any reason, or he/she is not in compliance with these Official Rules, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. No substitutions are permitted except if prize is unavailable, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Prize is not redeemable for cash and non-assignable and non-transferable except to a surviving spouse.
Winner is responsible for all federal, state, local sales, and income taxes. Any other incidental expenses on prize not specified herein are the sole responsibility of winner. Entry and acceptance of prize constitute permission to use winner’s name, prize won, hometown, and likeness for online posting and promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Limit: one $400 Class Prize and one $75 MVP Prize per teacher. Cash value of the prize cannot be redeemed. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the contest entry period.
