1-on-1 Sessions FAQs

Skillshare 1-on-1 Sessions are a new, trial offering from Skillshare that enables you to receive personalized support from your favorite teachers through a private, 1-on-1 video call. Skillshare members and non-members can register for a session to work through creative blocks; advance their creative practice or business; or get advice, tips, and portfolio feedback to take their career to the next level. Here are some answers to frequently-asked questions about Skillshare 1-on-1 Sessions: 

 

Which teachers are offering 1-on-1 Sessions with Skillshare? 

Skillshare 1-on-1 Sessions are currently a new, trial offering from Skillshare and are being offered by a limited number of Skillshare teachers. If a teacher is available for 1-on-1 Sessions, a link to register will be available on the top of their profile page as well as on their class page(s). 

 

How do I register for a Skillshare 1-on-1 Session? 

Register for a Skillshare 1-on-1 Session directly from a teacher’s profile page or class page on Skillshare through our integration with Cal.com. Participating teachers may be offering a variety of sessions at different lengths and price points, so start by browsing their options. Once you’ve selected the session you wish to attend, you’ll be prompted to choose a time that works for you, answer a few questions from the teacher about yourself, and enter your payment details. You will be charged for the session upon registration and will receive a confirmation email from Cal.com with a video conferencing link that you can use to join on the day of your session. 

 

How do I join a Skillshare 1-on-1 Session after I register?

Once you register for your session, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Cal.com that includes a video conferencing link to join when it’s time for your session. Most teachers are opting to use Cal.com’s video conferencing platform for their 1-on-1 Sessions, but others may choose to use Zoom or Google Meet. You can check the link in the email ahead of the call to determine what platform is being used. When it’s time to log on for your session, follow the link from your email. If your session is being hosted over Cal.com, the link will open in your web browser and will not require you to download an app. You can open the link through your computer, phone or tablet. Be sure to click “Allow” when prompted to give Cal.com access to your device’s microphone and camera. If your teacher is using Zoom or Google Meet, you will need to create a Zoom or Google Meet account in advance of your session and log into your account in order to join the session through the link provided.

 

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my upcoming session?

Skillshare 1-on-1 Sessions can be canceled for a refund or rescheduled up to 48 hours in advance. Locate the confirmation email you received from Cal.com when registering, and follow the links at the bottom to cancel or reschedule. 

 

When will my favorite teacher be hosting Skillshare 1-on-1 Sessions? 

While the number of teachers hosting 1-on-1 Sessions is currently limited, more teachers will become available in the coming months. Each time a teacher begins participating, they will send out an announcement from their Skillshare profile. Be sure to follow your favorite teachers, so that you receive an email notification for any announcement they make. 

 

Do I need to have a Skillshare membership to register for a 1-on-1 Session?

No, Skillshare 1-on-1 Sessions are available to anyone via the teacher’s Skillshare profile page, and you don’t need to have a Skillshare membership to participate. 

 

What is the refund policy for Skillshare 1-on-1 Sessions? 

If you’ve changed your mind or are no longer available to attend your 1-on-1 Session, you can cancel and receive a full refund up to 48 hours before your scheduled session. Locate the confirmation email you received from Cal.com when registering, and follow the link at the bottom to cancel.
