We’re excited to hear you’re interested in joining our first Community Challenge, taking place in our new Discord server. Access to the Discord will open on March 18th, and the Challenge will kick off on March 20th, 2024. If you haven't already selected 'Notify me' in one of our emails announcing the community space, please reach out to us to let us know you're interested in joining. We'll email you a link to join the Discord on March 18th as soon as it opens. (Note: If you previously selected 'Notify me' in an email about this, you're already on the list to be notified on March 18th!)

We totally understand! Participation in the community challenge and in the community Discord space is included in the cost of your Skillshare membership, but it is completely optional to join.

We understand if now isn’t a good time! You're welcome to join the Discord server even if you're not able to participate in this first community challenge. We'll email you a link to the Discord server when it opens on March 18th so that you can follow along for updates on future challenges and other programming you might want to join. What is the community challenge?

The community daily challenge is the first program taking place in our new Discord server. This 21-day challenge will give participants the chance to develop a daily creative habit and sketchbook practice alongside peers, with daily prompts designed to boost your creativity!

Throughout the 21-day journey, participants will receive lesson recommendations from some of our top curated classes on Skillshare. You will get to sample a variety of teachers and teaching styles, while deepening your daily art practice alongside other Skillshare members.

While this challenge will be hosted on Discord, participants will be encouraged to share their work in the Skillshare class project galleries to receive teacher feedback, and they’ll have the opportunity to connect further with some of the teachers featured in the challenge through our 1-on-1 offerings if they choose to purchase a session.

Do I have to have a Skillshare membership to join?

Yes, access to the Discord server (and participation in the daily challenge) is restricted to Skillshare members only.

Does it cost extra to join?

No, access to the Discord server (and participation in the daily challenge) is included in your Skillshare membership!

If I join, how often do I need to participate?

The challenge will include daily prompts based on curated classes and lessons. Participants will be encouraged to share a picture of their work once a week, but you’re invited to chat in the Discord server throughout your process even when you don’t have a project update to share. There is no set requirement on how often you must share a project or post to participate.
