Skillshare Community Discord Guidelines

We welcome all Skillshare members to join our community Discord server to engage in genuine interactions, participate in community challenges and programs, and collaborate with fellow creatives. This space can be used to build connections, increase your productivity and learning, further your Skillshare journey, and most importantly have fun.

 

This space was created to be an inclusive experience for all. Skillshare is not a venue for you to harass, abuse, bully, or intimidate others. We ask that everyone is respectful, keeps criticism constructive, and uses the space appropriately. Please do not use this space to dispute payments and transactions or report Skillshare site issues. Instead, contact our support team at help@skillshare.com for assistance in these areas.  

 

In order to ensure our server remains an inclusive, safe, and encouraging space for our members, all participants must agree to Discord’s Terms as well as abide by Skillshare’s Community Guidelines while engaging in the space.

 

In addition to following our Community Guidelines, please be aware that we prohibit the following types of behavior in the Skillshare Discord server:

  • Using the community space primarily as a space for self-promotion or as a proxy to promote or advertise other websites or services
  • Revealing personal or identifying information about another user
  • Impersonating another person within/outside of the community
  • Providing advice or resources that should be obtained by a certified professional (e.g. medical, legal, investment, accounting, or tax advice) 

 

Posting content on any of the following in the community server may result in a warning or immediate ban:

  • Any illegal activity
  • Any reference, promotion, and/or glorification of suicide, self-harm, or self injury
  • Any explicit usernames or content that involves live nudity or explicit content meant to be sexually gratifying
  • Any promotion for pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing campaigns, or other false earning scams 
  • Any reference of weapons, arms, and/or activities that can lead to physical harm (including self-defense featuring weapons) 
  • Any content or conversation intended to support a political candidate or fund a political campaign
  • Any content promoting disinformation or content that is deceptive or manipulative (e.g. conspiracy theories, pseudoscience)

 

The list above is non-exhaustive and may change from time-to-time. Participants who do not abide by these rules risk having negative actions taken on their accounts, including account deactivation. 

 

Please note that moderators may remove posts, content, and participants that do not follow these guidelines. This may subsequently result in your removal from not only the Discord server but your removal, suspension, or deactivation from Discord and Skillshare.
