Teach Corps Merchandising Magic Publishing Challenge: June 23rd - July 31st, 2020

We're excited to launch the Merchandising Magic publishing challenge: a summer publishing contest where we’re giving away prizes exclusive to Teach Corps members.

Being a member of Teach Corps means you are dedicated to leveling-up your classes and providing your students with the highest-quality experience possible on Skillshare, and have a desire to continuously grow as a teacher. But, we all know class merchandising can be one of the trickiest parts of publishing a high-quality and polished Skillshare class. Because of this, we’re excited to announce the Merchandising Magic publishing challenge!

The Merchandising Magic publishing challenge is designed to help you tackle and improve your class merchandising. Throughout this 6-week publishing event, running till July 31st, 2020, we’ll be offering resources, coaching, and community support to help you publish your best-packaged class yet!

Publish a new class and participate in the Teach Corps community between June 23rd and July 31st to qualify for fantastic cash prizes. 

  • Two teachers whose merchandising in their new class most reflects Skillshare guidance will each receive a $500 bonus and a marketing feature. These prizes will be announced at the end of the challenge in our weekly Slack chat taking place on Tuesday, August 4th.
  • Two teachers who participate and engage constructively in the Teach Corps challenge and Slack community, supporting other teachers working on new classes and soliciting feedback for their own, will each receive a $150 bonus. These prizes will be selected and announced throughout the challenge period.


No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this contest. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. By submitting an entry to the Merchandising Magic publishing challenge on Skillshare, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Skillshare, Inc., and that you satisfy all eligibility requirements.  


To enter the contest, you may publish a new class and/or engage in the Teach Corps Slack community during the period 12:01am EST on June 23rd, 2020, through 11:59pm EST on July 31st, 2020. All participants who, during the aforementioned period: 1. publish a new class that meets our guidelines, 2. share constructively about their class production process in the Teach Corps Slack #planning-and-production channel, 3. provide at least 1 constructive comment or piece of feedback on a fellow Teach Corps member’s post in the Slack #class-planning-and-production channel will be successfully entered into the contest. 


All entrants who publish a new Skillshare class that adheres to our guidelines by 11:59pm EST on July 31st, 2020, will be considered for one (1) of two (2) $500 bonuses to be added to their next monthly payment. All entrants who, during the period 12:01am EST on June 23rd, 2020, through 11:59pm EST on July 31st, 2020: share constructively about their class production process in the Teach Corps Slack #planning-and-production channel, and/or provide at least 1 constructive comment or piece of feedback on a fellow teacherss post in the Teach Corps Slack #planning-and-production channel will be considered for one (1) of two (2) $150 bonuses to be added to their next monthly payment.

No substitutions are permitted except if prize is unavailable, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Prize is non-assignable and non-transferable except to a surviving spouse. Winner is responsible for all federal, state, local sales and income taxes. Any other incidental expenses on prize not specified herein are the sole responsibility of winner. Entry and acceptance of prize constitute permission to use winner’s name, prize won, hometown and likeness for online posting and promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Limit: two prizes per household. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received during the Contest Entry Period. 

Participating entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, and release, defend and hold harmless the Sponsor and its affiliated companies, and all other businesses involved in this Contest, as well as the employees, officers, directors and agents of each, from all claims and liability relating to their participation, acceptance and use or misuse of prize. Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Contest or use or redemption of prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Contest or in the announcement of the prize.

Winner acknowledges the Sponsor and all other businesses concerned with this Contest and their agents do not make, nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty, representations, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative the quality, conditions, fitness or merchantability of any aspect of prize.

In the event of a dispute over the identity of an online entrant, the Sponsor will resolve such dispute in good faith in its sole and absolute discretion. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered, or mass entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices are void. The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged, illegible or incomplete entries; or (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or any combination thereof; or (iii) any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Contest. By participating in the Contest, you (i) agree to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification from the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify any person it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules and cancel the Contest if it becomes technically corrupted (including if a computer virus, bot or system malfunction inalterably impairs its ability to conduct the Contest), and to select winner from among all eligible entries received prior to withdrawal. Legal Warning: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN individual, whether or not an ENTRANT, TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE, destroy, tamper or vandalize this WEB SITE OR interfere with the OPERATION OF THE CONTEST, IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS and SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES and diligently pursue all remedies against ANY SUCH individual TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.


This Contest shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of New York, U.S.A. without regard to its conflicts of laws provisions. By participating, entrants agree that any and all disputes arising out of or relating in any way to this Contest shall be litigated only in courts sitting in New York, NY, U.S.A.
