About Student Profiles
Your Skillshare profile is where other members can learn a bit about you, including the classes you’ve taken, the projects you’ve shared, and any information you choose to add about yourself.
While your profile doesn’t need to be customized, adding a photo, your name, a short bio, and showcasing your creative work can help you connect with other students and feel more a part of the community.
All of your profile content is managed in one place — there’s no need to switch views or use separate tools.

Edit Your Profile Content
To update your profile, including your name, bio, and any creative work you’ve shared:
- Log in to Skillshare.
- Click your profile image in the top right corner and select View Profile from the dropdown.
- On your profile page, click Edit Content.
- Click on the field to update your profile image, name, or bio.
To add a new section:
- Scroll down to the bottom of your profile and click +Add Section.
- Select the type of section you’d like to add: Content or Projects.
- Add an optional title.
- To rearrange sections, use the arrow keys beside the section title to change its position on your profile. To delete a section, click the trash can icon beside the title.
To edit content within a section:
- For Content sections, click under the section title to type or paste text. Highlight text to bring up the formatting menu. You can also embed images, videos (YouTube/Vimeo), or external links using the icons at the bottom.
- For Project sections, content cards are added automatically to your profile page when you publish a project in a class. You can drag and drop them within their section to reorder them.
- Click Save and Exit at the top of the page to save your changes.
A few tips for profile sections:
- New content appears at the bottom of each section by default. To highlight something new (like a class or project), drag it to the top of its section.
- Project sections display up to 6 cards at a time. If you add more, a See More button will appear so students can scroll through the rest.
- You can create multiple sections for projects and rename them however you like to better organize your profile.
Archive Profile Page Content
Want to clean up your profile without deleting content? You can archive projects so they no longer appear on your public profile. To archive content:
- In Edit Content mode, scroll to the bottom of the section where the item appears.
- Drag and drop the project into its respective Archive area at the bottom of the page.
- Click Save and Exit to confirm your changes.
You can restore archived items anytime by dragging them back into their original section.
If you set a project to private in a class, it will automatically appear in your Project Archive.
Make Your Profile Private
- Log in to Skillshare.
- Click your profile image in the top right corner and select Account Settings from the dropdown.
- Select Profile Settings.
- Check Make my profile private.
- Click Save changes.
