How do I post and edit a project?

Posting your project work is a great way to interact with your teacher and fellow students! These steps walk you through how to post a project from a desktop computer or mobile web browser.

Publish a New Project

  1. Navigate to your class and click on Projects & Resources.
  2. Click Submit Project.
  3. (Optional) Add a cover image that represents your project.
    • Ideal size: 690 x 388 pixels
    • Maximum file size: 8 MB
  4. Add a project name and project description for your project, then include any related content such as images, video links (YouTube, Vimeo, or other streaming links), or an external link.
    • Inline images should be 1000 x 690 pixels and no larger than 2 MB.
  5. (Optional) To make your project private (i.e., not visible in the class’s project gallery), uncheck "Share your work with creatives like you."
  6. Once your project is ready, scroll to the top of the page and click Publish
    • Or click Save Draft if you're not ready to share it yet.

Important:

Projects saved as drafts do not qualify for a class certificate
To receive a certificate, make sure your project is published — either publicly or privately. Refer to the chart below for guidance.

Project Status Visible to Public? Eligible for Certificate?

Update an Existing Published or Drafted Project

You can update an existing project anytime after you've published or saved it as a draft:

  1. Navigate to your project from the bottom of your profile page.
  2. Select Edit Project.
  3. Update your project as needed.
  4. Click Publish to save your changes.
You can only submit one project per class. If you’re participating in a challenge class that has multiple project submissions over a set time period, you’ll need to update your class project submission for each project you complete in the class. You may label each project in the overall submission or not — check the Projects & Resources tab in your class to see if your teacher has given you specific instructions. Your teacher is not notified when you update a project.

Publish a Project Using the Skillshare App

At this time, you are not able to upload and publish class projects directly from the app. iOS app users can access the Projects & Resources tab on the class; clicking Submit Project will redirect you to the mobile version of the website. Follow the instructions above for publishing your project.
