Why didn’t I receive a payment this month?

There are a number of reasons why you may not have earned or received teacher earnings and/or referral payments. Listed below are the most common reasons and how you can make sure you receive payment moving forward.

A. You had no new referrals in the past month. We send payment on or around the 16th of each month for all referrals that converted to membership, net of refunds, in the previous month. If you have noticed a dip in your payments, consider continuing to market an older class to drive new referrals.

B. You did not meet the 75-minute minimum. You must accrue a minimum of 75 total minutes watched by members on an active subscription across all of your published classes in such month in order to receive a payment for that month. Any minutes earned in a given month do not roll over to the next one. If you're not meeting this threshold, we recommend promoting your existing classes or teaching another one! 

C. You provided free access links for your class(es). Teachers only earn for the minutes watched in a class by subscribing members. To check if you have created free access links for your class, visit the Edit Details page of any class, and click on the Promote tab.

D. There was an issue, either because you do not have a payment account set up or because the transaction failed. Please ensure that you’ve successfully registered with Tipalti and that your payment settings are correct. Refer to our instructions in the article How do I edit my payout settings? to edit your payment settings or check the status of a recent payment. E. Your payment is being processed. Skillshare sends teacher payments on or around the 16th of every month. It may take several business days for the funds to arrive, depending on the payment method you select. Please refer to When and how do I receive payments from Skillshare? for more specific information about estimated processing times.

F. Your class(es) are in violation of our Community Guidelines. If this is the case, you should have received an email notification from our team with next steps specific to your case.

If you need to address incorrect information associated with your Tipalti account, please reach out to teach@skillshare.com.

Please note that failing to register with Tipalti, providing any incorrect information, or leaving unfinished steps during Tipalti registration will prevent you from earning any teacher payment from Skillshare. Any teacher payments that you otherwise would have earned during the period in which you fail to register fully with Tipalti will be forfeit.
