At Skillshare, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve the platform and best meet the needs of our community. One of the areas we’re currently working on improving for our teachers is the class creator tool and uploading flow. To keep you in the loop, we want to share some initial updates we're making in June 2021.
These initial updates are designed to offer up helpful tips and resources right within the tool, and clarify the moderation and review process that all classes already go through. The main updates are outlined below.
We're adding helpful “Reminders” to the Video Lessons tab.
We're adding a short list of friendly reminders to the Video Lessons tab to clearly communicate to all teachers, but especially new ones, some of the elements required in every Skillshare class. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list, so we link directly to the Class Guidelines now, too!
To publish your class, you'll now click the green “Submit” button in the upper right corner.
The green button that used to say “Save & Publish” now says “Submit.” As before, as soon as you hit “Submit,” your class will be published and visible on the platform, and a new class notification will be sent to all of your Skillshare followers.
Why did we change the button to say “Submit?”
This language better represents the moderation and review process that each new class goes through within its first 72 hours of being published. All classes are reviewed by our team of trained moderators to ensure they comply with our Class Quality and Community Guidelines. If our moderators notice any issues with your class, they will reach out to you directly within 72 hours. For more on our class moderation and review process, please review Class Moderation.
We're updating the automated email you receive when your class is published.
As before, you will receive an automated email to confirm your class has been published and is now visible on the platform. We have updated some of the language in this email to better represent the moderation and review process that each new class already goes through.
