Coming this July: Skillshare’s Creative Feed! We’re sharing the details early so you can show up, stand out, and make the most of this new way to connect with students.
This July, we’re introducing a new way for students to stay connected with the community across Skillshare: the Creative Feed.
The Creative Feed is a customized experience that brings together updates from the teachers and peers students follow — including new class launches, discussion posts, and project activity — all in one central place. It’s designed to spark deeper and more frequent engagement, help students rediscover the teachers and classes they love, and keep creativity flowing.
We’re sharing this FAQ in advance of launch so you have everything you need to understand how the feature works — and how to make the most of it as a teacher. Your content powers the experience. With a few simple habits, like posting discussions or sharing projects, you can boost your visibility and help foster a more connected Skillshare community.
Have questions or ideas about the Creative Feed? We’d love your feedback as we prepare for launch. Drop us a note anytime at teach@skillshare.com.

What is the Creative Feed?
The Creative Feed is a centralized space on Skillshare where students can catch up on the latest from the teachers and peers they follow, including new classes, discussion posts, and projects.
This early version is just the beginning, but the goal is big: to help students stay engaged, discover more of what (and who) they love, and feel more connected to a creative community. And the best part? It’s all powered by the content you’re already sharing as a teacher.
Who can see the Creative Feed, and how do they access it?
Any logged-in Skillshare member — including free trial users — will be able to see and interact with the Creative Feed. This feature is designed for students, so if you’re a teacher and want to check it out, just be sure you’re browsing Skillshare as a student.
We’re still a few weeks out from launch, but once the Creative Feed is live, it’ll be accessible right from the top navigation bar on Skillshare.
How does the Creative Feed benefit me as a teacher?
The Creative Feed is designed to bring more eyeballs and more engagement to the content you’re already sharing. By surfacing your activity (new classes, discussions, and any project feedback you share) in one central place, we’re making it easier for students to stay connected with you and come back more often.
A big priority for us is strengthening community on Skillshare. When students engage with discussions, post projects, and see your presence throughout their experience, they’re more likely to keep learning — and keep coming back.
In short: more visibility, deeper student connection, and a smoother path to long-term engagement.
How is the Creative Feed different from Discussions I post or the Following tab?
The Creative Feed is a new way for students to keep up with the teachers and peers they follow, as well as classes they’ve engaged with — all in one place.
When you post a new class or start a discussion, that activity can show up in your followers’ feeds. If a student posts a project in your class, that can surface too, along with any feedback you share. Each user’s feed is unique based on the people they follow and classes they’ve interacted with.
In short, it’s a more dynamic, scrollable way for students to stay connected to your teaching on Skillshare without having to navigate between class pages or tabs. Students will still receive in-platform notifications and email updates for new discussions — the Creative Feed just brings everything together into one scrollable view, right on Skillshare.
How does my content get surfaced in a student’s Creative Feed? Do I need to do anything differently?
No need to change a thing! The Creative Feed pulls from activity you’re already doing on Skillshare. When you publish a class, post a discussion, leave feedback on a project, or share a project of your own, that activity may appear in your followers’ feeds.
This early version is intentionally streamlined so we can learn how the community engages with it. As we gather insights, we’ll share what’s working best in the Help Center and Teacher News.
How often should I post to stay visible in a student’s Creative Feed? Will Skillshare provide best practices or tips to help me optimize my posts?
Great question! Since the Creative Feed will be brand new, we’re using this early version to learn what kinds of content spark the most connection and engagement — and we’ll be sharing tips along the way.
For now, we recommend sticking to our tried-and-true best practices for student engagement on Skillshare:
- Publish a new class every 2 to 6 months.
- Post a discussion to your followers at least once a month — this blog post shares some great tips on what content resonates most with students.
- Leave thoughtful feedback on student projects early and often.
The same occurs with discussions: when someone replies to a discussion, that post gets resurfaced for your followers. So encouraging a response is also another way to get more visibility on what you’re sharing.
The more consistently you show up, the more your content has to appear in your followers’ feeds — and more importantly, the more opportunities you have to deepen your connection with students. That kind of engagement is what keeps them learning, creating, and coming back. As we learn what’s working best, we’ll share updated guidance in the Help Center and in Teacher News.
How will students engage with content in their Creative Feed?
Students can interact with posts in the Creative Feed just like they do today — by commenting on class discussions, projects, and announcements — but now, they can do it right in their feed. No need to navigate to a separate class page or open a pop-up — everything happens in-line, within the scroll.
To add something to the Creative Feed, just use the same tools you already know: publish a new class, post a discussion, or share a project. The Creative Feed simply brings that activity front and center. To interact with this feature, you’ll need to have an active Skillshare membership.
Will students see content from teachers they don’t follow?
Not in this early version of the Creative Feed. For now, students will only see content from teachers and peers they follow, as well as from classes they’ve engaged with.
We’re starting small and focused so we can learn more about how the community interacts with the feed and we’re excited to explore what’s possible as the feature evolves.
Will all of my content — classes, discussions, and project feedback — be visible in the Creative Feed?
Short answer: yes! Anything you share on Skillshare will appear in each student’s Feed if they follow you or have engaged with your classes. And this early version is sorted by last update date, so any activity on a post, such as a discussion or a project, will surface that content again.
How can I share feedback on the Creative Feed?
We’re still a few weeks away from launch, but we’d love to hear what you think. Questions, ideas, or feedback? Drop us a note anytime at teach@skillshare.com — your input will help shape what comes next.
