How do I update my Skillshare profile as a teacher?

With the launch of Creator Hub, teachers now have a dedicated way to manage their profile. Customizing your teacher profile establishes trust with your audience and highlights your creative expertise.

About Teacher Profiles

As a teacher, your profile appears in two key places:

  • Your teacher profile page: This is your public-facing profile that showcases your classes, published projects, and anything else to establish your expertise.
  • Your 1-on-1 booking profile: If you offer 1-on-1 Sessions, the basic information from your profile (photo, name, short bio, and social links) is shared here as well, so students can learn more about you before booking.

In other words, your basic profile info is updated in your Creator Hub settings and reflected across both surfaces — whether or not you’re hosting 1-on-1s. You can further customize your teacher profile page directly on the page itself.

Edit Your Basic Information

Your basic information includes:

  • Profile photo
  • First and last name
  • Title
  • Short bio (specific to 1-on-1 Sessions only)
  • Website and/or social media links

This information is reflected across your teacher profile and the profile on your 1-on-1 Sessions booking page, if you’re hosting.

To update your basic info:

  1. Log in to Skillshare with your teaching credentials and navigate to Creator Hub.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select Edit Profile under Settings.
  3. Update the information in each field — changes are saved automatically.

Add a Video Intro for 1-on-1 Hosting

If you're offering 1-on-1 Sessions, you can upload a short intro video (in vertical format) instead of a profile photo on your 1-on-1 Sessions booking page. It’s a great way to introduce yourself and give students a preview of what to expect if they book with you.

  1. Log in to Skillshare with your teaching credentials and navigate to Creator Hub.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select Edit Profile in the general settings section at the bottom.
  3. Select Upload Profile Video.
  4. Upload a video shot in vertical format (max file size: 1024MB).

Edit Your Teacher Profile Page Content

Your teacher profile page is where you can showcase your work, highlight specific classes, or share more about your teaching style.

To edit your profile content:

  1. Log in to Skillshare with your teaching credentials and navigate to Creator Hub.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select View Profile at the top of the page.
  3. On your profile page, click Edit Content.

To add a new section:

  1. Scroll down to the bottom of your profile and click +Add Section.
  2. Select the type of section you’d like to add: Content, Projects, Teaching, or Discussions. Add an optional title.
  3. To rearrange sections, use the arrow keys beside the section title to change its position on your profile.
  4. To delete a section, click the trash can icon beside the title.

To edit content within a section:

  1. For Content sections, click under the section title to type or paste text. Highlight text to bring up the formatting menu. You can also embed images, videos (YouTube/Vimeo), or external links using the icons at the bottom.
  2. For Projects, Teaching, and Discussions sections, content cards are added automatically to your profile page when you publish that content. You can drag and drop them within their section to reorder them.
  3. Click Save and Exit at the top of the page to save your changes.

A few tips for profile sections:

  • New content appears at the bottom of each section by default. To highlight something new (like a class or project), drag it to the top of its section.
  • Project and Teaching sections display up to 6 cards at a time. If you add more, a See More button will appear so students can scroll through the rest.
  • You can create multiple sections for projects, classes, or discussions — and rename them however you like to better organize your profile.

Archive Profile Page Content

Want to clean up your profile without deleting content? You can archive classes, projects, or discussions so they no longer appear on your public profile.

To archive content:

  1. In Edit Content mode, scroll to the bottom of the section where the item appears.
  2. Drag and drop the item into their respective Archive area at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click Save and Exit to confirm your changes.

You can restore archived items anytime by dragging them back into their original section.

If you set a project to private, it will automatically appear in your Project Archive.

Make Your Teacher Profile Private

  1. Log in to Skillshare with your teaching credentials and navigate to Creator Hub.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select Settings.
  3. On the Account Settings tab, beside Profile Settings, click Edit.
  4. Check Make my profile private.
  5. Click Save changes.
Setting your profile to private will also hide your classes, 1-on-1s, and digital products in Skillshare search.
