Can I offer a class resource as a digital product?

We encourage you to think about class resources and digital products as separate but complementary offerings in your teaching ecosystem.

A class resource is downloadable content that teachers provide to complement class instruction (video lessons) or support students as they finish a class project. If a class resource is essential to take a class or complete a class project, it must be uploaded as a resource to Skillshare so students can freely download what they need, without paying. A digital product, on the other hand, is a separate, standalone offering that a user can purchase outside of participating in your classes and to augment their learning. To ensure these offerings complement your teaching but remain distinct from any class resources you may offer, on Skillshare you can:

  • Promote your digital product in a related class, either through a class discussion post (with a link to the product) or in a video lesson.
  • Announce the digital product through a general announcement on your Skillshare profile.
  • Post a static link to the digital product on your teacher profile page.
Purchasing a digital product must not be required to complete a class on Skillshare.
