The Great Lock-In is trending for a reason: why wait until January to start your goals when you can begin now? But here at Skillshare, we’re not about hustle for hustle’s sake. Instead, we want to encourage Rising Teachers to commit to one small, meaningful action in support of your teaching — and tuck in to a cozy, focused creative season.
Running from October 6 to November 23, this challenge is about showing up for your students in a way that works for you: finally publishing that overdue class, giving an older one a glow-up, or building a steady habit of conversation.
Here’s How it Works:
To participate in the challenge, you must be a active member of Rising Teacher and complete the following steps:
-
Pick one of the following paths for the challenge:
- Publish a Class + Post: Publish a new class connected to your existing content, then post a discussion to your Skillshare followers about it.
- Update a Class + Post: Choose a class that needs a refresh, and following our guidelines, update it. You’ll need to post a discussion to your followers about this update as well.
- 4-Post Streak: Post at least one new and relevant discussion to your Skillshare followers each week for four consecutive weeks (4 total).
- Share your intention in the #teach channel in the Rising Teacher Slack. Tell us which path you’re committing to and how.
- Complete your path by November 23, 2025.
All teachers who complete all of the above steps by the last day of the challenge will automatically receive a free year of Skillshare membership, and they will be entered into a random draw to win one of 30 $250 prizes.
