Top Teacher Creative Momentum Publishing Challenge: Spring 2026

This spring, it’s all about helping students build creative momentum — with projects they can actually finish and habits they can stick with.

Introducing the Creative Momentum Challenge, running March 2–April 12, 2026. We’re inviting Top Teachers to publish one new class that helps students make consistent, actionable progress in their creative practice. Whether it’s a fast one-sitting project or a multi-day challenge format, the focus is on teaching the practice, not just the outcome.

How It Works

Top Teachers who publish a new class during the challenge window will be eligible to win one of eight $500 Grand Prizes. Winning classes will be selected based on our Class Quality Guidelines and the criteria below. Short classes (under 15 minutes) are eligible!

To qualify:

  • Publish a new class with a clear project that students can complete in one sitting (think one session or one weekend)
  • Complete these actions within 2 weeks of publishing the class:
    • Post one class announcement encouraging students to share their project
    • Respond to at least 3 student interactions (comments or project uploads) – ideally within the class, or within any classes if you don’t get immediate projects or discussion replies.

This challenge isn’t about project volume — it’s about showing up for the students who do join your class.

Prizes

  • 8 Grand Prizes of $500 will be awarded to standout classes published during the challenge window

Plus $100 Community Momentum Prizes for teachers who share the most useful insights in upcoming Slack conversations throughout the challenge.

Small wins matter — whether it's a short project completed, a daily prompt followed, or a little encouragement that goes a long way. We can’t wait to see what you create this spring!

The $500 Grand Prize winners will be determined solely based on the quality of the entry submitted and the skill shown by the teacher. All entries will be assessed by the Skillshare Curation team, and then separately by at least two Skillshare staff members. The entries that best adhere to Skillshare’s Class Quality Guidelines and include a clear connection to a previously published class, such as through a verbal mention in the video, a link in the class description, or a published announcement to followers. The entries that best meet both the quality and connection criteria will be selected as winners.

The $500 Grand Prize winners will be determined and informed via email and Slack.

Each winner may be required to submit an Affidavit of Eligibility within 5 days of being informed of winning or will be deemed ineligible. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, or if the selected winner cannot accept or receive the prize for any reason, or he/she is not in compliance with these Official Rules, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. No substitutions are permitted except if prize is unavailable, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Prize is not redeemable for cash and non-assignable and non-transferable except to a surviving spouse.

Winner is responsible for all federal, state, local sales, and income taxes. Any other incidental expenses on prize not specified herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. Entry and acceptance of prize constitute permission to use winner’s name, prize won, hometown, and likeness for online posting and promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Limit: one $500 Grand Prize and one free 1-year membership per teacher. Cash value of the prize cannot be redeemed. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the contest entry period.
