What Can You Sell as a Digital Product?

On Skillshare, you can sell a variety of creative digital products, including:

  • Templates, such as mockups, 3D objects, and planners.
  • Creative tools, such as brushes, fonts, color palettes, filters, and presets.
  • Educational products, such as guides, workbooks, and ebooks.
  • Art & design files, such as completed photographs, drawings or paintings that users can either print or use digitally; illustration pieces; digital stickers; icon sets; or digital backgrounds.

A digital product on Skillshare:

  • Must have a listed price.
  • Consists of one or more downloadable files. Shared links are not permitted.
Does not have to be exclusive to Skillshare — you can offer it for sale elsewhere.
Exception: While you cannot create a digital product consisting of a link and distribute it on Skillshare, we do permit teachers to add the link to a document, save it as a PDF, and upload that as their digital product. This workaround is limited to Notion and Canva templates, as well as preset files and LUTs. Review our Skillshare Content Guidelines for a full overview of what content we don't allow.
Want to offer a digital product for free? You’ve got two options:

Make Your Digital Product Stand Out

How you present your digital product matters. A strong title, description, and cover image help potential buyers understand the value of what you’re offering, and improve visibility on Skillshare and in search engines. Here’s how to make each element count:

Title

Choose a clear, concise title that highlights what your product is and who it’s for. Avoid using dates or time-sensitive terms to keep your product relevant long-term. Think: “Procreate Brush Set for Botanical Illustrations” or “Printable Goal Planner for Creatives.”

Description

Your description is where you make the case for your product. Share what’s included in the download (e.g., number of files or pages, file types, device compatibility), and explain how it’s useful. Speak directly to your target audience and emphasize the benefits: what will they get from this product?

Visuals (Cover Images & Video)

Strong visuals can make all the difference when it comes to selling your product. You can now upload multiple cover images to showcase what’s included — like different pages, file previews, or how your product looks in action. You also have the option to embed a short video to bring your product to life and help buyers understand exactly what they’re getting.

Think of visuals as your storefront: the more clearly you show the value of your product, the more likely people are to click buy.

Classification

Make your product easier to find in Skillshare search by tagging it accurately. At minimum, choose a category and one subcategory. You can also add details like compatible software, tools, or relevant topics — all of which help boost discoverability in search.

Price It Right

Every digital product on Skillshare must be listed with a price — free products aren’t allowed.

Not sure what to charge? Here are some general price ranges based on what other creators offer:

  • Single items (e.g. one brush or preset): $5–$20
Bundles or packs of related items: $25–$100
    Workbooks and ebooks: $15–$35

These are just starting points — feel free to adjust based on the value you’re offering, your audience, and what similar products are priced at. Check out our examples for more ideas for pricing.

Handling Usage Rights & Licenses

We’ve got a specific article about that! Check out How should I handle usage rights or licenses on digital products I offer on Skillshare?

Examples From the Community

To help you develop, describe, and price your own digital product, check out these examples from other Skillshare teachers:

  • Mel Armstrong's Procreate Repeat Pattern Toolkit (current price $18) is a best seller for good reason: she's got a selection of excellent brushes and she includes a free ebook on how to use them.
  • Jeremy Mura’s Brand Strategy Deck (current price $39 USD) is a slide template for “brave designers who want to be strategic with their design decisions.” Jeremy clearly outlines in the digital product description who the template is for, and what’s included.
  • Rich Armstrong’s creativity workbook (current price $27 USD) is a 60-page workbook that guides readers through a 10-day creativity challenge.
